This hands-on workshop provides an introduction into the wonderful world of gourd crafting. It includes instruction in cleaning and cutting gourds, use of various tools and materials, proper safety precautions and tips on how to transform a plain gourd into a elegant piece of jewelry.

No jewelry making experience necessary. You’ll leave the class with several one-of-a-kind jewelry creations as well as the skills to continue on your own. Early registration recommended. Class size is limited to ten.  

Materials Supplied: 
Written tutorials, gourds, wood filler, wooden dowel, paint, protective sealant, wire cutter, Zap-a-gap glue, wood glue, electric drill, paper towels/napkins, stainless steel scrubbers and pencils. 

Supplies to Bring: 
Decorative button with shank (1/2—3/4 inch diameter),  X-Acto® knife with #11 blade, Excel Hobby Knife with #27 saw blade, grapefruit spoon or small metal spoon, dust mask, latex or vinyl gloves (if sensitive to mold), sand paper (i.e., 60, 180 and 220 grit), round or flat paint brush, soft cloth and towel.
